SHEET INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is meant to provide a general guide. We will work with our clients to find a plan and budget that works for them. Pricing and service package options are linked below.

After downloading, enter data into the highlighted cells and the information populates in the other cells. This is a helpful guide as a project planning tool, and lists many of the elements required for setting up a business, whether you have us help you, or just use this to guide yourself through the process. Of course, it is only meant as a guide and actual elements and the order in which you complete them will vary.

The spreadsheet has 4 tabs. On the “basic info” tab, select the number of additional service lines. Leave it at 0 if only providing ABA. You will also enter data for anticipated number of regions as well as anticipated number of clients you will be starting with. Under funders, select the anticipated number of funders you will be contracting with for each category of funder.

On the project planning tab, select the level of support you anticipate having us provide. “Client owns” means you do everything, and therefore there is no anticipated cost associated with that. “Basic consult” assumes that we will provide a relatively low level of engagement, which may involve general consulting and guidance, but you complete the tasks with our direction. “Full consult” involves us providing a more intensive level of service in the specified rows, and for Phases 1 through 4, may involve us doing the entire task. Phases 5 and 6 assume your staff completing the day to day tasks, although we can discuss you contracting us daily/weekly management of services as well. Default settings for Phases 5 and 6 are at a basic consult level for some items, and full consult for others. We can discuss what is best for your needs if you’d like.

As a reminder, these are estimates, and actual numbers can vary. For example, in the row to determine location, we have 30 minutes. However, if you already know the region you want to serve, then that won’t take all the time allocated and therefore overall costs will end up being less in that case. Budgeted number of hours column is typically per item time estimates, whereas selected number of hours takes into consideration other factors like level of work we do, and where applicable, information from other tabs like how many funding sources you anticipate applying with.

The “lists” tab includes estimated hourly costs. The “level of engagement” column indicates the level of service you anticipate having us provide. Price is generally lower per hour if you are contracting more hours, which is how the sheet is currently set up. A general guide for pricing is available through the links below.

The summary tab shows an estimated number of hours per phase and anticipated costs. The “estimated cost for c-level professional” table allows you to compare the quote generated with the cost of hiring a single full time person with experience in the field to do this work, relative to having our team of highly specialized professionals do the same work. Note that for phases 1 and 2 there is a minimum cost if you have us do this. This is outlined in the summary section.

If you decide to take this on yourself, that’s no problem! We hope you find this project planning tool helpful. If you’d like our support, feel free to reach out to us and we can set up a call to discuss your budget and your needs.
